A Groundbreaking Gift of Generosity: Thank You, Bro. Kuya Stephen Pamatmat and Ate Marinel
December 12, 2024
On behalf of the Tau Mu Sigma Phi USA Foundation, we extend our profound gratitude to Bro. Kuya Stephen Pamatmat and his wife, Ate Marinel, for their bold and visionary act of generosity in donating 200 shares of Google stocks to the Foundation we all love.
This pioneering and innovative contribution represents a strategic gift with lasting impact. By donating appreciated stocks, Bro. Stephen and Ate Marinel have not only avoided capital gains taxes but also secured a tax deduction for the full market value of the stocks—an exceptional win-win for both the donors and the Foundation.
As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation pays no taxes on this donation, ensuring that the full value of $38,726 (based on today’s price of $193.63 per share) directly supports our mission. Even more inspiring, these shares will continue to grow in value and pay dividends, creating a sustainable impact as we work toward our ambitious goal of reaching $1 million by our 80th anniversary in 2026.
This extraordinary act of generosity not only accelerates our mission but also sets a powerful example for others to think creatively about how they can support the Foundation. Bro. Kuya Stephen and Ate Marinel’s pioneering spirit inspires us all to explore innovative ways to contribute to the lasting legacy of Tau Mu Sigma Phi USA Foundation.
Maraming salamat, Bro. Kuya Stephen and Ate Marinel! Your dedication and generosity are truly transformative.
Hail Tau Mu!

Foundation News: A Generous Gift from Our Founder’s Daughter | December 13, 2024
We are honored to announce a heartfelt contribution from Dr. Sonia Ramos-Soriano, the beloved daughter of our Founder. In a touching tribute to her father and Kuya Gus, Dr. Sonia has generously donated $5,000 to the Tau Mu Sigma Phi USA Foundation.
Dr. Sonia, a Pediatric Gastroenterologist, practices in Laredo, TX alongside her husband, Mon, an Orthopedic Surgeon. She has been closely following the Foundation’s progress, including our Levels of Giving program, the “Small Change, Big Legacy” campaign, and our ambitious goal of reaching $1,000,000 by our 80th anniversary in 2026. In her own words, she hopes to increase her donation next year to help us achieve this milestone.
This generous gift was made in honor of her father, our founder, and her brother Kuya Gus, who is also a Tauan. Her picture above was taken during the celebration of our most senior Brod, Kuya Virgil, on his 100th Birthday Mass (picture above). The connection between generations and their enduring dedication to the Brotherhood is truly inspiring.
Looking ahead, the 2026 San Antonio Convention will feature a special tribute to honor our Founder and Kuya Gus, whose legacy continues to guide and motivate us.
On behalf of the Tau Mu Sigma Phi USA Foundation, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sonia for her unwavering support and generosity.
